Dr. Jared Bjarnason was born in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended The University of Alberta in Edmonton
graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. He earned a second Bachelor of Science and a
Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
Before New
Westminster Optometry Clinic Dr. Bjarnason practiced at Image Optometry in Langley BC and served as an
optometrist for the Vancouver Giants.
Dr. Thom strives to care for each and every patient as the unique individual they are, in a friendly, caring, compassionate manner.
Milena Stefanovic grew up in the Lower Mainland. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of British Columbia, she attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree. She completed a Primary Care/ Ocular Disease Residency at The Eye Institute at Pennsylvania College of Optometry before returning to BC to provide eye care in New West, Port Moody, and all around BC with the clinic’s Community Outreach Program.
Dr. Helen Lee was born in Seoul, S. Korea, and grew up in Vancouver, BC. She graduated University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Science in life sciences, and continued her studies in Boston to become Doctor of Optometry.
By the end of 2011 Angelo Rojas a Senior Optician joined New Westminster Optometry,
bringingover 40 years of experience, he was in charge of setting up our first optical laboratory in clinic and
as well managing and developing business in our corporation.
In 1972 Angelo Rojas, a qualified Optician joined his father’s Optometric practice Centro Optico Rojas a
centennial optical family business, Angelo who completed his Master’s Degree in Ophthalmic Optics in the
faculty of optics at the Polytechnic Institute M.Melgar is third generation of a Peruvian family with many
member as Opticians, Optometrist and Ophthalmologists .He immigrate to Canada in 1991 continuing his
professional practice as Optician.
In 1993 he became member of the Dispensing Opticians Association of British Columbia and the Opticians
Association of Canada. He was certified as a member of the College of Opticians of British Columbia as
Dispensing Optician and Contact Lens Fitter.
In 1997 became member of the American Board of Opticianry ABO and certificate member of the National Contact
Lens Examiners NCLE USA. Angelo Rojas has a large trajectory in the Optical field and as a former owner of an
optical laboratory he had the opportunity to meet many professionals and customers who recognizes his
experience and high standards in the optometric and optical industry.
As a member of Lions Club International had the opportunity to work with the programs of Sight Preservation &
Awareness, Lions Eye Banks, Lions Eye Health Program and Lions Eyeglass Recycling; programs that complemented
his carrier because he understand that to work in the vision field is the best opportunity to bring to our
communities the best gift, the gift of sight.
